Senior Utility Commissioning Engineer

Contract Type: W2 Only – Initial 12-Month Contract

A confidential client in the pharmaceutical sector is seeking a Senior Utility Commissioning Engineer to support a major API manufacturing project in Lebanon, Indiana. This is a high-impact role for an experienced professional with a strong background in utility systems startup and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in developing Operation Verification Test Scripts.
- Design and implement Startup Logic and handover prioritization strategies.
- Support startup activities including flushing, pressure testing, and system livening.
- Apply and enforce LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
- Manage Utility Commissioning Engineers during installation verification and operation verification phases.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and compliant execution.
Required Experience:
- 5–10+ years of experience in Utility Systems Startup within Pharmaceutical or Oil & Gas industries.
- Proven ability to lead commissioning teams and manage complex technical deliverables.
- Familiarity with DeltaV, Kneat, and Performance Qualification (PQ) processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working in regulated environments with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced, site-based setting.
