Job Title: Senior Data Team Lead – Clinical Data Management


Employment Type: Full Time Permanent


Location: Homebased (USA or Canada)


Our client, a global CRO, is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Team Lead to independently manage the end-to-end delivery of data management services for high-impact global clinical research projects. This is a key leadership role offering the chance to drive quality, timelines, budgets, and customer satisfaction while mentoring and developing the data management team.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the delivery of clinical data management services across multiple global studies or programs.
  • Own the planning, execution, and close-out of data management projects with a focus on quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding data management deliverables, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Provide vision, leadership, and mentorship to the data management team, fostering skill development and best practice adoption.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects and lead negotiations related to timelines, budgets, resources, and processes.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience as the primary customer contact for data management deliverables.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple large global studies or programs of studies.
  • Strong negotiation skills, having led discussions with customers on timelines, financials, processes, and resourcing.
  • Experience training and mentoring junior data management team members.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant clinical data management experience.
  • At least 7 years’ experience as an Independent Lead, fully owning study-level DM activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Deep expertise in clinical data management with a CRO or pharmaceutical background.
  • Ability to lead complex, global projects and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing junior staff to build a high-performing team.
