Pharmacy Manager – Melbourne – Onsite


Please note: Candidates must have clinical trial experience. Pharmacy Manager must have extensive experience working at clinical trial sites.


About the Role


As Pharmacy Manager, you will oversee all pharmacy activities related to investigational products (IPs) within our clinical trials. Reporting to the Clinical Trials Operations Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of 6, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality management of clinical trial medications from dispensing to accountability.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage and supervise daily pharmacy clinical trial services, including dispensing, inventory, and aseptic compounding of investigational products
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pharmacy professionals to deliver exceptional clinical trial pharmacy services
  • Collaborate with clinical trial sponsors, investigators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless trial operations
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory standards, clinical trial protocols, and internal policies
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, policy reviews, and implementation of best practices
  • Manage budgets, service agreements, and contracts related to clinical trial pharmacy services
  • Deliver training and education to pharmacy staff and other clinical stakeholders
  • Represent the pharmacy team in clinical trial governance committees and meetings with sponsors


About You


  • Registered Pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with clinical trials exposure
  • Strong knowledge of clinical research, ICH-GCP guidelines, and pharmacy legislation including Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) requirements
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
