Logistics Manager – Adelaide


Role Overview


My client is a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer on a global scale.


We are looking for a strong performing pharmaceutical logistics manager for one of their facilities based down in Adelaide.


The working environment is fast paced. The products are pharmaceutical, some sensitive and controlled substances.


The main function of the role is to liaise with internal/external customers, suppliers and service providers to ensure the efficient storage, control and timely movement of materials and finished goods.


Lead the Warehouse team for my client, driving efficient storage, order fulfilment, and optimisation of supply chain operations. Implement continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance, safety, and high service levels for domestic and international shipments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage and develop warehouse staff to meet KPIs and drive high performance in line with business objectives
  • Define and lead Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen projects to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise workflows .
  • Oversee daily processing, packing, dispatch of domestic orders, and international shipping—coordinate with freight forwarders and third-party providers.
  • Manage receipt, quarantine, storage, dispatch, and return of materials and goods; conduct cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
  • Ensure proper documentation, storage, validation, and coordination with Quality/Regulatory teams on quarantine/release issues, especially for controlled (S8) products.
  • Freight agreements; monitor expenses for stores and handling within budget.
  • Liaise directly with domestic customers and coordinate export documentation and shipping.
  • Health, safety, and environmental standards—manage risk assessments, incident investigations, training, and hazard mitigation .


Qualifications


  • Proven experience in warehouse leadership within regulated or pharmaceutical industries. This is a pre-requisite.
  • Strong background in project management and CI Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen.
  • Proficient in inventory control, logistics documentation, and export/import coordination.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid financial acumen for budget control and cost optimisation.
  • Commitment to EHS standards, with experience in risk management and safety protocols.
