Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Corporate Communications to lead communications efforts in the USA. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances a Global Pharmaceutical Company which the role will support to reputation, build brand awareness, and support corporate objectives.
You will play a key role in managing internal and external communications, media relations, and crisis communications.
The pharmaceutical organisation are a leader in developing treatments for rare and ultra-rare diseases. They focus on areas where there are often few or no other treatment options available.
The Director of Corporate Communications will play a key role in the Patient Advocacy programme to support the comprehensive patient support projects, providing resources and guidance to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic communications plan for the US market, aligned with the company's overall business goals.
- Oversee all aspects of media relations, including building and maintaining relationships with key journalists, influencers, and industry analysts.
- Manage internal communications with employees across the US organization, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
- Develop and execute communication campaigns for product launches, clinical trial announcements, and other corporate milestones.
- Lead crisis communications efforts, developing and implementing response plans to mitigate negative publicity.
- Manage and mentor a team of communications professionals.
- Develop and manage the company's corporate website and social media presence.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, identifying opportunities to enhance the company's communications strategy.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Ideally 7-15 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or agency.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies.
- Strong media relations experience, with a proven ability to secure positive media coverage.
- Experience working with congress
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Experience in crisis communications.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the US healthcare landscape.
- Excellent analytically and problem-solving skills.
