Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site

An opportunity to join one of New Zealand's leading early-phase clinical research groups. This company have been established for over 20 years and so are specialised experts in the industry.

They have a focus on neurology, oncology, diabetes clinical projects. They also have some interesting projects focusing on gene editing and so offer some unique and complex work.

They have seen some successes over the years and are a growing business, offering chances for progression and development across the teams.

They are seeking an experienced individual to lead the laboratory team to the next phase of growth (approx. 30 with 2-3 direct reports.

This would suit a current Lab Manager with a strong understanding of clinical research and good team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a large team.
  • Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the laboratory.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with regulations.
  • Actively engage with external stakeholders, customers, and vendors to maintain strong relationships and drive business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and seek out new opportunities for process optimisation and innovation.
  • Lead the team through periods of change and growth, providing guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in team leadership, ideally within a laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong vision and strategic thinking, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience in phase 1 lab research would be desirable, but not essential.
