Case Study: Executive Search Project for Global CRO

At a Glance.

Our client, a global CRO employing around 1,000 people had grown organically since its inception. Following a private equity investment, they realised that they would need a Business Development Team to support them in their next phase of growth.

Case Study: Executive Search Project for Global CRO

The Challenge.

The CRO needed to build a Business Development team from scratch, having never had one before. They weren’t familiar with the market, what the roles should look like, the sort of remuneration they would need to offer or the types of backgrounds they should be targeting. They needed support to build a picture of the market.

The roles were all territory based with two people required in the Northeast USA, one in the Southeast and one on the West Coast, meaning we had to account for the size of the potential talent pool in each location.

The Solution.

i-Pharm were engaged on an exclusive basis to support them with their requirements. We were able to provide them with a specialist recruiter who only deals in the Commercial market to guide them through the process.

We provided the CRO with a full Market Map, outlining all the companies with relevant talent and building a list of candidates to proactively target.

The Outcome.

i-Pharm sourced and placed 100% of the roles we were given, with the sixth team member joining via an internal transfer. All the roles were Business Development Directors within the required territories, who will be responsible for driving the future growth of the CRO.

Due to the in-depth knowledge i-Pharm’s specialist Recruiter had of the team, we were then re-engaged by the CRO to find a Head of Sales to oversee the team.
