KellyOCG is an extremely important client for us: as one of the world’s largest managed service providers (MSPs), more than 90 percent of the Fortune 100 use Kelly to source contract talent and solve their workforce challenges. A few years ago we created a dedicated MSP team within our contracting business in recognition of the specific needs of clients like Kelly, and it’s great to see that work paying off. Very few recruiters receive recognition from Kelly; we’re delighted to be one of those that they feel stands out.
Recruiting for an MSP requires a slightly different skillset to traditional contract recruitment direct to clients, so by building that dedicated team we’ve been able to really target our capabilities in the right direction. That said, we are only ever as good as our people, and the members of the MSP team have really stepped up in the past 12 months. Being home-based and challenged to operate in quite unprecedented circumstances, those individuals have been working exceptionally hard, and that is the main reason we have picked up this award. Well done to Hamish Corson, in particular, who leads that team from the front and is always incredibly hands-on.
The other thing that pleases me is what this award says about the partnerships i-Pharm builds with its clients. We have developed a really good relationship with Kelly over the last few years, getting to know their people and building a working dynamic based on trust and honesty, which really makes a difference. We’ve grown our contract business, and the MSP team specifically, to meet their needs; by listening closely to what works for them, the result has been great for all of us.
One lesson our working relationship with Kelly has taught us is that we need to be patient – it can take time to really onboard and get to know such a significant client, and there are no quick wins. We’ve had to focus on consistency and quality, with a long-term mindset that allowed us to refine our model whenever our approach needed tweaking.
Most of all, though, this award reminds us all of the importance of being human. Recruiting for an MSP can feel like a numbers game, with a need to find the right candidates to tick the necessary boxes as quickly as possible and with a huge focus on speed of delivery.

But we know that every single role and every single candidate has its own story; we treat every individual with respect and that is why they come back to us time and again.
I have always believed that, in the long term, if we look after people and invest in relationships, that can only have a positive outcome for the i-Pharm business. The industry we operate in is incredibly dynamic and we always need to be challenging ourselves or we’ll risk falling behind. That continuous improvement is at the heart of everything we do.
There is no magic bullet to success in recruitment… instead, it’s fundamentally about the people that deliver our services, who need to be motivated to be successful and resourced and supported to respond to client needs. We are really excited by the growth trajectory in our contract division, and delighted that Kelly has once again recognised the efforts we are making to get things right.
